100th Anniversary of the Stanley Park Pavilion & the Rock Garden
Sunday, October 23, 2011;
Time: Ceremony and Birthday Party; 10am to 11:30 am;
Walking Tour 11:30am to 12:30pm;
Tickets: Walking Tour – By donation, first come basis;
Location: The Pavilion in Stanley Park (near Malkin Bowl Theatre)
On Sunday, October 23rd, at 10 am, you are invited to join Heritage Vancouver Society, the Vancouver Heritage Foundation and the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation in a celebration to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Stanley Park Pavilion and the Rock Garden.
Join us at the Pavilion at 10am for a ceremony at the Rock Garden – Vancouver's first public garden – for the unveiling of the first ever Heritage Foundation's "Places that Matter" plaque.
Afterwards, enjoy a Birthday Party with refreshments supplied by the Daniel Group, historical displays and photographs, and tours of the Rock Garden.
End your morning with a Heritage Vancouver walking tour at 11:30am, "A Century of Park History", a tour of the Dining Pavilion, the Rock Garden, Malkin Bowl, the Rose Garden and Park Memorials led by President, Donald Luxton.
This "by donation tour" is on a first come basis.
