Top Ten Endangered Sites (2001-2015)

Heritage Vancouver's Top Ten most endangered heritage resources list is released each year in the spring. The endangered sites represent the ongoing challenges that we face in building a future for heritage in Vancouver.

2014 Top Ten list >

Released April 2014, our 14th list includes: Hollywood Theatre, First Shaughnessy, Kerrisdale Baptist Church, Morrisette Farm House, South Vancouver High School, modernist Firehall No. 5, WW1 Memorials, Arthur Erickson House & Garden, East Hastings Street, and Commercial Drive.

 

2013 Top Ten list >

Now in its 13th year, our list for 2013 includes the Forest Education Centre, East Hastings Corridor, Main Post Office, Schools, Delamont Park, St. Paul's Hospital Burrard Bldg., Waldorf Hotel, West End Heritage, Shaughnessy, and Granville Street 800-1200 blks.

Our 12th list includes the Main Post Office, Historic Movie Theatres, St. Paul's Hospital: Burrard Bldg, Schools: Sir James Douglas, Strathcona North, Shaughnessy Land Speculation, Wilmar Estate, West End Housing, Grandview Neighbourhood, and Downtown Granville Street.

 

2011 Top Ten list >

Our 11th list includes the Carleton School, Sexsmith School, Kitchener School, the 1899 Legg House, the 2400 Motel, Lower Mt. Pleasant, Collingwood Library, Granville St., Strathcona North, and the Shannon Estate.

Includes the South Granville apartment district; Vancouver Schools; the 2400 Motel; St. Paul's Hospital; The Vogue Theatre, and unfortunately more.

 

2006 Top Ten list >

Includes the Burrard Bridge (again), St. Paul's Hospital, the Vogue Theatre, Vancouver's oldest surviving building - the Hastings Mill (1865).

 

2005 Top Ten list >

Includes Yaletown houses, Chinatown and Charles Dickens School (again)
